Poor quality screws strip before you can even get them inKaszreyeneThe poor quality and unreasonably long screws are such poor quality that the drill stripped them right away, despite being perfectly lined up with both holes. I bought 2 and both are now in the bin.
So not waste your money.1
Used to be betterAnonymousI have six of these from around 3 years ago and they look neat and tidy. Just bought 3 more recently and they fit together all wonky. I can barely get the screws into the base which has been quite frustrating. Disappointing for the cost.2
Stylish storage RosI bought this for my pantry, it’s a good size and mine holds big vinegar bottles. It was easy to assemble and very sturdy. 5
Wooden crate - averageRachelThe quality is really hit and miss. Poorly cut wood that somehow you need to create a box with but end up needing to sand it back so it all fits together. These used to be great, but now not so much.3
Not the bestWillThe individual pieces are uneven which makes the whole box look crooked. The base has stickers applied which do not easily come off and leave a sticky residue. Not worth the money2
Great for potatoes or onions in .pantry PeterNice design box for keeping my potatoes or onions at the floor level of the pantry cupboard . I had castors fixed to it for easy rolling in and out to access my items. Good quality pine , easy to put it together. However 4 tiny screws were short in the package and have to swap for a new replacement the next day. It was an extra trip back to the store.4
Don't believe the good reviewsAnonymous reviewerThis product is terrible. It and its smaller cousin. Like other people have experienced it is very difficult to put together. Cheaply made and doesn't line up properly. I had to use a power drill and a separate impact driver to first drill new holes and then impact drive them in so the screws wouldn't scratch my shelf. Took me ages and incredibly frustrating1
Christmas decoration crateJennieReally easy to put together & dump all the Christmas decorations in, makes them look orderly!!5
Has had a re-design and now terribleAnonymous reviewerHas been redesigned so have to use 24 very small screws to put the ends on - dreadful product now. We used to by 50 at a time for our business and are now stuck with 50 of the new design - poorly designed with screw holes missing and takes forever to put together. A disaster now.1
AwesomeKrystalI have had these crates before and I love them. I was going to buy 4 and then I read the reviews about the tiny screws. I was very shocked but I decided to buy just 1 to see how bad it had become. But I got the original box with the large screws and so easy to put together. It is still a great product and hope they don't change it. I am now guying to get 3 more crates to finish my project5
Great wooden boxMarkusWe use this box to store our potatoes, onions and dishwashing supplies. Great fit under the sink.5
Quality is NOT good! TaratiNails on both sides where the handles are have come loose in the very first attempt to lift it. Luckily for me it was empty when I fell to the floor in a pile of wood pieces! Quality not good sorry won’t buy again and the binning ones are way way better!1
Not up to Ikea StandardsAnonymous reviewerThis product is a poorly designed, poorly manufactured example of aiming for a low retail price but leaving behind the best features of well made Ikea products. Extremely challenging to assemble for such a modest wooden box and very poor that an overlarge very difficult to remove product information sticker is placed "sunny side up" when at least it should have been placed underneath where the gluey residue would be not visible. Product should be good and will suit my requirements, but after the painfull assembly of 4 of these units I am much less inclined to shop at Ikea. By comparision I recently assembled a large Billy Bookcase and having bought more than 20 over the years I can see they are still improving the design and it's a complex but stressful free assembly. The Knagglig unit needs to be removed from sale until it undergoes a complete re-design to make the assembly at least a relatively trouble free task.1
Poor quality and overpricedSamuelI’m a literal carpenter, with tools, and I struggled to put this thing together. Low quality screws, misaligned pilot holes, and already shoddy construction made this a small nightmare to build. The screws sticking out the bottom are unbelievable. The crate can’t be used on any surface you care about because the screws will damage it. Additionally, charging $25 for this is insane. It’s cheap wood, cheap construction and IKEA shouldn’t be asking more than $10 for these.1
Reasonable Quality & ValueCarolynAt $25.00, this is a solid box. It was a bit tricky to put together by hand as the pilot holes for the screws were not really holes. But got there in the end and pleased with the result. 4
Got ThereCharlesIt was mainly easy to assemble. However, some slight alignment issues were visible but won't be seen in the final build. 5
NoElisabethLow quality product. Several large adhesive stickers that need to be removed - they leave sticky residue on the wood. The pre-drilled holes aren’t deep enough so you have to re-drill yourself before assembly or the boxes won’t go together. Pieces are chipped and badly cut out. Wood filler has been badly smeared across eyes / knots in the wood. Existing nails have dents and holes around them. Regret purchasing and do not recommend.1
Wooden Storage BoxSandraHave purchased 10 of these to make easter crates for friends, they are not great to put together as some of the holes do not line up and some of the staples are where you need to put the screw definitely need to use a drill to get through the staple.
No matter how hard I tried when putting these together most of them where not semetrical which is annoying.
There is a large sticker on one of the sides and atleast 3 stickers on the underside that when removed left a residue which I could only remove using a sander.
The timber used is great it would be so much better if all sides lined up properly, I understand these are mass produced but more care should be taken on the production line with this product.4
Pine crateShelleyI like this product but found issues when I unpacked the 2 crates, two panels were stuck together on both crates.
It took a bit to pry them apart which caused slight damage to both crates.
Also we had to pre-drill holes in all 4 posts to be able to screw the sides together.1
Good sizeXinlanGood size and strong enough to hold many items.4
